China is home to the world's second largest economy, in terms of nominal GDP and purchasing power, after the United States. And of course it manufactures most of the doodads that we can no longer live without. So what are its most valuable brands? Brandirectory has made something of a specialty of ranking brands in a variety of categories, with us last looking at the firm's ranking of football brands. Its recent ranking of the top 50 brands in China is a bit on the dull side, being dominated by banks and telecommunications firms, with just a few tech companies, such as Huawei, Alibaba, Lenova and Baidu, cracking the top 25.
