Cool fictional company logos from famous movies

admin Thu, 02/16/2012 - 10:05

A fauxgo (fake logo) is a symbol or other small design created to represent a fictional company or organization that exists only on film. The first logo is representing the Umbrella Corporation from the movie Resident Evil (2002).

You can see a variation of this logo in the background from the third episode.

McDowell's, Coming to America (1988)

Wilderness Explorer, UP (2009)

Aperture Laboratories, Portal (2007)

Weyland-Yutani Corp, Aliens (1986)

Mr. Fusion, Back to the Future Part II (1989)

Dinoco, Toy Story (1995)

Omni Consumer Products, Robocop (1987)

Jurassic Park (1993)

Monsters Incorporated, Monsters Inc (2001)

Ghostbusters (1984)

Buy N Large, WALL-E (2008)

Sterling Cooper Draper Price, Mad Men (2007)

Thanks for the collection to fauxgo.

Dinoco is from the movie Cars not Toy Story & Portal is a Game not a Movie (unless I'm wrong?)..cool list though.

The NS-5 logotype in the movie "I, robot" is a pretty cool example as well, I remember that they even created a full promotional website where one could order a customized NS-5 robot. Here's a link to the logo's image (the promo website is no longer online though): http://goo.gl/BMTC0

Also, the USR company (the one creating the NS-5 robots ion the movie) has a logo too, here it is: http://designblog.nzeldes.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/USR_doc.jpg

The "Umbrella" logo is the best! Love the games and all the "Resident evil" movies!)) As a matter of fact I've never taken a thought of creating false logos to be such a thorough and important job! When you play a game, or watch a movie you never think that these logos are specially created for this or that media product. So, thank you, guys from us all for your work on logos we all know and thus for our entertainment!;)
