What if American football teams had somehow extended their activities into the realm of soccer (or football, as the Europeans quaintly refer to it)? Then it could well be that some of them would be amongst the roster of teams currently competing in the World Cup. That being the case, it would be likely that these teams would have had to employ logos that were a fit with the design aesthetic of their European counterparts. At least, that's what seems to have been the thinking the Minneapolis-based Football as Football design collective, which last year began the ambitious project of creating a series of illustrations embodying this idea, which is only now concluding. We've picked some favorites to share here — can you guess the teams these correspond to? If not, you can visit the Football as Football site, which displays the entire collection. The group has also launched a Kickstarter project to create an art book featuring all 128 of the illustrations.
