Well, a break and a rest does wonders. All my old logos gone (sort of), and a fresh start with fresh ideas to start off 2012 to resume normal activities. Getting rid of my old deadwood was rather cathartic, and the break has done wonders ;)
As it's a fresh start for 2012, it seems only prudent to wash away old arguments and grudges and get on with the task of making sales, improving this excellent site and cementing friendships.
BTW: Some old designs might reappear having been reworked or updated - just in case anyone starts wondering what is going on etc.
I missed you guys :)

Happy to have you back!
Welcome back, Phunkmonster! I look forward to seeing your new stuff.
Welcome back to the madhouse.
Welcome back buddy ;)
Nice to see you're back Phunkmonster.
I'm always right you know lol, welcome back Derren!
Thanks Matt. Yep, I'm as predictable as the sun coming up ;)
Cheers guys. I promise not to be so *melodramatic* in future ;) Think I had a bit of burnout, so the break did me good and gave me a lot of perspective. What did I miss?
Lots of carnage. Not much.
So, everything has changed for the better then ;)
No, the SF are still there :(
I had to think for a second what you meant then. Mmm, I think I'll pass on such discussions from now on. We don't want anymore designer strops. From me especially ;)
I wasn't fishing :)
Welcome Back.
I know, I just don't want to get involved in these discussions anymore... I think they take away from other more important things... like drinking beer, listening to Steve Reich and designing! Which I am right now :)
That'll work, but Ennio Morricone for me. ;)
Morricone is great! Do you have the soundtrack from The Mission?
No I will check it out. I've only recently started to listen to his work even though I've been listening and loving his music for years; in the past I never bothered to check out who was responsible for OST's etc. until recently. On the same theme I recommend Trevor Morris, Michael Giacchino and Ramin Djawadi.
When I took the train to work, The Mission was one of my iPod favorites for blocking out loud cell phone conversations so that I could read in peace. The other was Philip Glass' Koyaanisqatsi.
Thanks for the suggestions! I'll check them out.
If you like film music, and Koyannisqatsi is superb, why not check out the work of John Zorn. He's not a 'minimalist' but he does everything from freak out jazz, noise, illbient to beautiful ballad work and it's always interesting and unique.
Thanks! I'll check him out.
I just listened to Shaolin Boss on youtube. Great stuff!
you know Koyaanisqatsi ?????!!! ++++likes to you mate!!! I love Koyaanisqatsi !
My husband and I once saw Philip Glass conduct a live orchestra perform the soundtrack while they played the visuals from the movie on a huge screen. It was amazing!
nice!!!!!
I've performed Steve Reich's Clapping Music live :)
I had never heard of that piece until now and checked it out on youtube. Very cool.
It sounds easy. But it takes a bit of stamina to keep a real steady rhythm and if you're in a reverb heavy place, like I was, it's hard to keep good time with lots of echoes sounding off-beats and such ;)
I know I couldn't do it.
When I get a couple of bucks together I really need the soundtrack to The Tudors.
Oh my, 'Wolsey Commits Suicide' still raises the hairs on my back every time I listen to it. The actual scene is up there as well but the music compounds it. Good choice.
I also just had Thomas Newman suggested to me. I really need to start selling more stuff so I can buy some music.
SF??
Staff Favourites.
Oh yes my favourite subject ;)
welcome back Darren! let's raise the hammers, design hammers that is! >:)))
Sapevo che saresti tornato!!!!! Felice di rivederti, collega!!!!!!! ;)))))))
Yay!
Welcome back, buddy.
Hi derren, good to see you back!
Glad you're back. ;)
