Mine sometimes approved later than 24 hours, but most of the times 12 or under.

For the last 2 days we are over 24h because we have so many new logos. But normally we stay under 24h.

They are extremely busy at the moment i was told, it cant be easy, im uploading at least 4-5 logos / day now multiply that by almost every user and you got a bucketloada logos!

There must be literally 100's of logos per week, and I don't know what process admin uses to validate and approve logos but it must take at least 15-30 min each one. My logos sometimes take a few days to be approved but I can imagine that it is because of sheer volume, especially when some designers are uploading 5, 10, 15 logos per day. I can also imagine that the process involves checking for stock illustrations and plagiarism which is time consuming, and sometimes admin will miss a few of these "logos"... this is why we have to try to help out and report any of these copied logos if we see them.

he did it on purpose, we had a good laugh about that one lol

Yeah, I know. I don't reject brief logos at all. But I made a comment because client needs to know. We will remove it in a few days.

You probably should reject brief logos on the same basis as the other for the following reasons:
- quality standards should be the same on the site no matter if it is a stock or a brief logo. Clients posting briefs expect to receive the same quality logos as the clients buying stock logos.
- A brief logo that is not rejected ends up as a stock logo that appears in searches. Because of that the overall quality of the logos on stocklogos.com may decline, tarnishing the image of the site and the community as well.

I don't mind doing that but in another forum topic designers argued the exact opposite. So, I'm not quite sure what would make you guys happy.

Admin Ivan - You cannot pleased everyone. You are doing the best you can and you have given us a lot of advertising our logos for free. ;-)

it's not for free, its 25% + Paypal-Fee but you're right, Ivan is doing a great job :)

Nonetheless, I think you should better take the position of the client rather than the position of the designers on this aspect. Clients expect quality, and if they get it here, they will pay and come back for more or recommend the site to other people. Opening the gates of the briefs to all the logos, even if they are not up to standards, will simply destroy the reputation of the site's briefs and in the end lower the sales. Also, it will secondarily flood the repository with the unsold logotypes from these briefs.

In a simpler way of looking at this, since ALL the logos (brief or no brief) end up in the repository, they should all be judged by the same standards.

I think since designs for briefs are time sensitive they should have priority.

molumen's picture

Priority in release time, yes, but they should be IMO checked in the same way as the stock entries.

i think may be like this :
first all logos for briefs are acceptable ..
then the brief is closed an all logos that pass from the rules goes to library or if not goes to recycle bin ...
is it a fair solution ?

mccmedia's picture

Admin, is there a rule for designers whereby you give them another chance of they infringe SL laws? Or is it one strike and you're out!?!? I suppose it depends on the severity of the infringement... maybe you should set up a jury and we can put offenders on trial, hehehe. Molumen would be good for that, as well as the others on this thread!

admin's picture

First time is ok, because designer may not read or understood the rules. Second time is not ok and it results in a ban.

it must be a daunting task to sift through them all. I think some of us could be helpers....but now that I think about that, I'm sure that would lead to problems also. I'm just glad to be a small part of this as I know the growth of this site will be tremendous!! I still wish that we had the ability to chat with each other though...pssst Ivan (as if you don't have enough to do).

I think it could be faster, but I understand that time zones can affect this situation

I think when somebody uploaded a few logos and if there is a logo for briefs, than that logo should be uploaded before others which are not for briefs i.e. others logos can wait to be uploaded.
