i think i might have to argue the origin of the starbucks name if i remember right it is actually taken from the old tv show battlestar galactica in witch the character starbuck the symbol that is now the starbucks logo as a tattoo

I once heard that Sony stands for Standard Oil of New York and that it was created when Standard Oil was broken up into smaller companies by the supreme court in 1911. It was later bought by the Japanese. Perhaps its just an urban myth.
