How do things work around here?!

abhas1 Tue, 07/31/2012 - 07:31

I recently participated in the Pam and Barry's logo contest (http://stocklogos.com/contest/pam-barrys-team-remax). And they sure did have a deadline on when the contest will close, but designers like me have no clue about what is going on.

There has been no word from the clients in a little less than a week, or at least not that I know of.

I apologize if I am unclear about how results are formally announced here because this was my first entry to this site.

But I do believe we, the designers, need to know *when* results will be announced.
For all I know, right now, one can just post a contest here, get a hundred designers pitch in logos, and then just disappear with all those ideas.

Once again, I apologize if I am missing something here. But if I'm not, I'd really appreciate some answers.

No contest has a guarantee of a winner. Even with the new system and a guaranteed fee to designers, if a contest has entries that the client doesn't like or want, there won't be a winner. However, with that said, clients can take several weeks to make a decision based on any number of factors. The client my in fact be acting on behalf of someone else, so as a go between there will be delays. The particular brief you mention has a fee of $450, so it's unlikely that the client will simply disappear as that fee is now paid up front. They may well be in consultation discussing ideas and coming to a conclusion. There may be several strong candidates, in which case the decision might take time.

When the winner is chosen by client it will appear on top of all logos. Theoretically they must choose within 2 weeks after closing. Thanks
