Effective Aug 1, 2012 we are changing the split between designers and StockLogos for new designers. For the first 2 (lowered from 5) sold logos you get 55% (effective Aug 1, 2012) and after that 75% of the sale price. (Remember that we also deduct a PayPal fee from your share, which is about 3-5%.)
Why are we doing this? Most new designers need lots of training. We have to explain the rules and check-and-recheck their uploaded logos for aesthetic and technical quality. As opposed to many senior designers who are so experienced that their store logos are approved automatically. With new designers we have considerable more problems in terms of copyright violation. And senior designers help us and spend their time on correcting these mistakes. Many times we have to do the changes requested by client as well for them because they are either not answering clients' emails or do the job slowly. We also spend more effort promoting new designers compared to senior designers who developed their own channels for promoting their work on the site.
This is why we thought it's best to increase the share for StockLogos for the first five sold logos. However this doesn't mean designers would be payed less. It simply means they have to increase the listed price accordingly. Anything you sold until Aug 1, 2012 will be payed at the regular 75%.
We hope new designers will not mind this too much and with the small extra revenue we get from this change we will be able to better support all designers and develop the site faster according to the requests made earlier.
Thank you for your understanding and continuous support!
