The AIGA/NY 30th Anniversary Posters

Chris Dickman Thu, 07/05/2012 - 12:29

AIGA was founded in 1914 as the American Institute of Graphic Arts, and remains a central force as the oldest and largest professional membership organization for design. If you have the chance, joining a local chapter could make all the difference to your design career. This year is the 30th anniversary of the New York chapter, which asked 30 of its most well-known members to contribute a poster to mark the event by “capturing your personal experience with the AIGA NY chapter." With mega-designers like Ivan Chermayeff, Milton Glaser, Debbie Millman and Paula Scher involved, the result was predictably thoughtful and varied.

The limited edition posters are on display at the AIGA National Design Center in Manhattan until August 1. You can also browse the entire collection on the Etsy site, where they're available for purchase, some of them signed, at a modest price, with all the proceeds benefiting AIGA/NY. We've included a few of our favorites below.
