Adobe Illustrator Tips

ROCKADERO Fri, 02/03/2012 - 07:42

Hi, this maybe teaching certain designers how to suck eggs but I thought I would share this.

Recently I've had problems scrolling through my fonts in Illustrator in the character menu with the arrow keys. I would scroll maybe 4 fonts and then it would skip and go to the bottom of my font list, very annoying!!

So if you have had this problem before here is a solution that worked for me,

Turn off Enable Missing Glyph Protection.
In Illustrator CS5 choose Edit > Preferences > Type.
Remove the check-mark for Enable Missing Glyph Protection.

I'm now able to scroll perfectly through all fonts without a problem!!

If there are any other tips designers would like to share please do.

Thanks for sharing. This isn't the first problem I've heard about with CS5. I bought that version ages ago, but am reluctant to install it since I'm not having problems with CS4, and haven't heard of any real advantages of CS5 vs. CS4.
