Please note we pay designers for their sales weekly. We reserve the right to withhold or delay payments as we deem reasonably necessary, including for new designers, unusual or suspicious activity or other reasons for up to 60 days.
I want to explain quickly why we don't pay immediately when a logo is sold. You may think that we got the money so there is no good reason not to pay. Actually that's not the case.
We process payments through PayPal which has an advantage that we do not store any credit card data on the site, so even in case of a break-in no credit card information can be stolen.
Second, PayPal has lot os security systems in place to minimise credit card fraud. Unfortunately despite all their efforts fraud does happen in a small number of instances. In such cases PayPal doesn't want to release payments until they are sure that the credit card company will not claim the money back when the real owner of the stolen credit card number disputes the charge on his statement. In such cases PayPal freezes payments until they can make sure the money is coming through the credit card companies. Also, within the PayPal system there is also customer protection, which allows clients to dispute their purchases for several weeks. See how a hold on our account looks like on the image above.
Fortunately in those cases where such a hold appears the payment clears in a few days or weeks and we get the money. In a very small amount of cases we don't and in this case the logo goes back to market. Out of 1500 sold logos we only had to do that 3 or 4 times, so it's only a 0.2% chance for that happening.
We're regularly looking into various payment systems to improve the payment times to designers and help customers pay easier, but so far PayPal seems to be the best out there for our purposes.

Weekly? I've been waiting 3 weeks now and I'm not exactly new. It's pretty frustrating when are told payments are coming on certain date, then put to another date, then to another date, today and still nothing?
Is there anything else going on? I hope this is not a Brandstack situation? I think this is the longest I've had to wait for payment and it just so happens when I have little streak of sales.
As I explained weekly is normal, but occasionally some payments are held back. We also have a delay last week. So we didn't pay within 7 days. It was due to a reporting bug in the payments which is already fixed. Don't worry, nothing is going on. Sorry for the delays. We will continue payments on Monday.
And what's going to happen Monday? Sorry Tuesday now, then Wednesday and before you know it, it's Friday again with a 'Sorry again Monday now!' If there is any payment holds from PayPal then tell me! Not promise a date and then give another date and then another, at least I know where I stand and plan accordingly for it.

It's your choice if you're not doing the changes, but if client complaints and puts a request back for his money on PayPal you will not be payed.
We're not messing around with you. We had system problems, which are now solved and we will complete all payments on Monday. Please be a bit more understanding and flexible.
I have been understanding and flexible but when you're told that it will come on one date, then another, then an explanation saying there were problems with a promise it will be Friday, then again nothing on the Friday and to be told now it'll be Monday it's kind of frustrating. Especially when trying to juggle finances to suit the situation.
Without going into it I'm actually out of pocket now ( I've held off paying something ) because I was told that payments were coming last week and normally I can count on that.
I suppose you live and learn.

Actually, it is only a 0.2% chance of that happening BECAUSE of the safety you have in place. If you didn't have that I'm sure that % would increase dramatically.
Rockadero, you've sold a lot of logos here. Have you ever NOT been paid at some point?
I think Ivan does the best he can. He isn't psychic so he can't determine when PayPal will release the funds.
My point is NOT that I've never been paid, it's more a communication problem. If there is a problem with PayPal, then tell me. If there is a system problem, then tell me. In this instance there was no PayPal problem.
Communication is key and NOT withholding information would benefit us all. I was told 3 different dates and yes 2 payments came through today but again waiting on two more. I asked a question above and it wasn't answered, again that's bad communication that leads to slight paranoia.
I would rather admin say that the payment will take 4 weeks and then have it on the exact day they specify than being told 3 different dates within a two week period. I can then plan in advance financially.
I'm not having a go at anyone. If you say 7 days, then make it happen! If not then say the amount days it will take! People can then plan around it.

I agree. It's just payments depend on many points in the system and I give my best judgement when asked, but things fail on me. When it happens I have to correct my estimate. Trust me guys I will make sure everyone is payed as fast as possible.
I agree with Rockadero that better would be to give a sure time when the payment actually will be done even if that's a 4 week period, than give those different short dates that doesn't actually happen.
Anyway, I hope everything turns out great and everyone actually will get paid.

I did answer your email already. Please check. Your're waiting for the payment of the logos that were sold on 22nd of Feb. and they are to be payed on Monday or Tuesday, which is 11-12 days waiting. So we will be late by 4-5 days. Sorry about that.
But I must note that this is an exceptional last two weeks. Normally we pay within 7 days, sometimes within 2-3. It's just we had issues as I explained earlier and all the payments piled up and now we have to work them off till normal again.
At the time of writing the post I had no reply. It's not a matter of checking as my emails come up like text messages and I always have my phone with me. Except in the shower of course.

If you receive a payment late, be patient,,, because maybe Ivan is busy. I had many weeks remain patient, in the end also remains to be paid.
I am more than 9 weeks remain patient, because it was my paypal is not active.
It is slow and patience is needed.. It also takes a while for the buyers money to clear.. Though 8-9 weeks is not really good and think the payment process needs looking at. If you had done a weeks work for someone then you wouldn't expect to wait 2 months for the payment.
Were those your first logos sold here? Then it can take a tad longer.... I'm in the same boat. :)

Occasionally that happens if the payment is on hold by PayPal, but that's the exception.

i know that transfer through the bank is not an option here but i am asking again why we don't use it here? it is much easier,safe,fast and guaranteed , i think many designers would like to have their money soon even if the deducted fees are relatively high.

Payment for first logo sold is a month then ;)
But the other sites I work with for theme, web or logo, longest time (and fixed) of processing payment is 15days and maximum of them do it in 8 days.
Don't worry folks. Everybody is payed, just be patient a bit.
Please only ask if there is a real problem of some kind as it's really time consuming for me to look up and check payments individually.
Wouldn't be as hard if you noted the logo(s) in PayPal -- then you could simply search payments to confirm.

If we had the money for sure without any possibility for the credit card companies, the card issuer banks and paypal to hold or take the money back we would be able to speed things up. Right now strong consumer protection from these identities that we rely on limit us. We could cut PayPal out, but that would bring in a whole lot of fraud issues and the main culprit the banks and credit card companies would still remain. With PayPal we are shielded from many potential issues.

Ancitis is right. You make it seem like it is wrong from us to ask about our payment. The clients are already using their purchased logos, while we wait for weeks and weeks (some even months) to get payed.
Not wrong at all to ask. I was just joking. You have to wait for the process to go through. I can't do faster at the moment, but I'm constantly looking at new possibilities. Also see my answer above.
Considering how BS went under... I prefer keeping SL healthy, fraud-free, and wait a while... As long as the while don't turn into months. :) Looks like I will have my 3rd sale tonight/ tomorrow... so yes, eventually seeing the financial benefit would be nice.
BS did not go under b/c of cc fraud. They didn't pay certain designers for months, only claiming the cc fraud after the doors closed.
Nothing like this will happen with us. We're part of a large corporation that is on the NY stock exchange with good reputation. Our interests lie in a long term good business relationship with both designers and clients.
I always assumed BS had fraud problems - where did the money go, for god's sake? Wes just having a good time? Bah.
I understood that overhead and aggressive marketing ate more $$ than revenue could keep up with.

Technically it's not really 7 days, because if you sell on Saturday you will have to wait until Monday/Tuesday the week after next, so it's like 10 days. But if you sell on Friday, you will be payed on Monday/Tuesday which is only like 3-4 days. So it's only roughly 7 days.

Its about a month now and I yet not felt the grace of logo earned. How can I make another better than this? It feels like the poor farmer, who sow it, grow it, reap it kept on waiting, but the shop owner sold it and the buyer ate it. AlertPay seems to have changed the rules. We can't pay outside of the USA. We're trying to call them to see what's the deal...
You must consider some other options for payment. AlertPay is the most slowest and the most complicated transfer of money that I must to use. and with the highest commission 15$ fee. And this issue now confirm that.

I think you should write that payment comes not less then 2-3 weeks, as I've looked through this topic - it takes such time. Is here anyone who received payment in 7 days? xD
This topic is not a representative of payment times. These are the exceptional cases. Designers get payed in 7 days, except if there is a problem. Problems can be all kinds, most of them are incorrect payment information provided by designer and occasionally a hold by PayPal because of some problem with the payment from client.

Made my 1st sale 3 weeks ago and still have not been paid. This thread is not very encouraging.
In this thread you can read that on first sale you need to wait 5 weeks. After that it's 7 days only.
Please read the "1000 questions" with same answer above before you ask about payment.
1 st SOLD--> 6 weeks ->> money.

I got my payment within 2 days.
I for one have been paid promptly for many of my logo sales, so if anyone has issues with a delayed payment it's always better to email admin to voice concerns.
Also, I suppose it depends how desperate you are for money I guess? I'm still owed for a logo sale from over four weeks ago, but the amount is comparatively little that it doesn't warrant a big bust up about it. Interestingly, the sale is from one of my other accounts and was the first one, so maybe it's being treated as a first time member account?
i dont`t understand why you ppl are so frustated...ALL DID GET THEIR MONEY-sooner or later.
So be patient if its youre 1st sale.

I have been told for the past two weeks that I would be payed the following Monday and I have not received anything yet..I have made the amendments that the buyer required.
If for some reason admin cant pay me then why cant they just tell me instead of saying they are going to pay me and then they don't.
Have a good mind to get in touch with the buyer and explain the situation

I contacted Paypal about that and they told me that the sender should confirm the e-mail address again.
