About your Company/Product/Service
I’m a marriage celebrant. I chose the name Swish Ceremonies to try to represent the style of ceremonies I want to perform - stylish and elegant. Swish could also relate to the shape and noise of a wedding/formal dress. I’m concentrating on setting up my wedding business first but I hope to diversify into other ceremonies so envisage needing variations of the logo in the future to use for my other work.
Special Requirements
I’ve attached a copy of the font and colour I’ve been using up to now. It's an example of what I like but can be changed for the right design.
Feel free to ask me anything else.
Target audience
Couples getting married who want a celebrant who can offer something more stylish and personalised than a bland, stock-standard “insert name here” ceremony.
Your objectives
I want an eye catching, attractive, modern logo that hints at vintage style (it seems to be a popular theme for weddings at the moment). It will be used on printed materials (business cards, brochures, letterhead etc.) as well as on my website.
I like colour so would like a colourful logo. Here are some examples of colourful logos I’ve seen that appeal to me:

http://stocklogos.com/logo/daisy-dress
http://stocklogos.com/logo/peacock-colors
http://stocklogos.com/logo/bubble-tree-4
I don’t want super bright neon, or colours that are too washed out and pastel and I don’t want the predominant colour to be pink (I don’t mind accents of pink, just not the feature colour). I like yellow and my initial text-based logo is a nice sunny yellow.
I would like a picture/design that goes with the text that signifies weddings. My ideas to date have been a dress, a bouquet of flowers or perhaps a tossed bouquet of flowers in flight. But apart from wanting something stylish and colourful that relates to weddings I’m open to suggestions.

I was wondering if you had any edits you'd like to see beyond what I have done so far. I love your business concept and I would love to start a one-on-one business relationship. I can create business cards, letterheads, documents, packaging designs, etc. I also do calligraphy and invitation design. *** contact info removed ***

Hi Ashley, I don't have a specific edit in mind. I really like the word dress idea but worry that in its current form it lacks colour and doesn't stand out from the page enough, and I don't want a coloured background like in the original version. Do you have any other ideas of how a word dress could work with a little more colour? Maybe the outline of a dress filled with words - could be a different shape of wedding dress if that would work better. I like your portfolio - very creative. I hope you did well with the version of the word dress you used in your assignment.
The client didn't find anything of liking unfortunately.
Well, to clarify, the one I intended to choose turned out to be copied from somewhere else.
Please report that one to Admin as it is a direct violation of this site.
As a person who's fairly good with copy…I wanted to check in and see if you knew 'alternate' uses for 'Swish'? Do you ever intend to work with same sex couples and would you be willing to defend the name for that reason?
Thanks, I did report it to admin, the copied logo was removed and i hope follow up action was taken with the cheat. Not aware of any alternate meanings in use here for swish, hope it's not rude where you are. Very happy to work with same sex couples.
Just to clarify my state as you were reffering to one of my designs. There was no absolute copy of another design. I have seen an image as I was searching some ideas to start with and I used the outline idea of a woman. Ok I didn't start with something unique but the rest design was made exclusively for this contest. It is a different thing to be inspired or use some idea of something you have seen either at the moment or at the past and have it in your head as an image, and different thing to take something as it is and show it as yours. The whole idea was modified. I'm really sorry if I did something wrong from your point of view. I discussed it with the admin and as the final call was that the design is a copy, the logo was deleted. Thank you for hearing me.
