rolandic.com
We want to convey three things together: (1) the sense of grassroots/community, that it takes the joint effort of families and researchers to come together and work on the this project; (2) that the problem we are looking at is complex but tractable; (3) optimism that we will be successful and find the cause/cure. I am attracted by the image of people as roots of a plant feeding into a plant or tree that is shaped perhaps like a maze (which has been bent into the longitudinal cross section of a brain!). The overall design needs to be clear and simple and not bogged down in detail so that it can be easily recognized. Please avoid cliched depictions of science, research, labs. We are looking for a bright and accessible logo with maybe 3 main colors, not a grey or black/white "serious" one. Our study website is at www.rolandic.com and we will incorporate the new logo into a revamped site.

I have created a logo based on your brief that will be able to be viewed after it has been approved.

Curing Epilepsy is a cause close to my heart and I hope to be posting more logos in hopes that you may like one of them.
Thanks,
Shari
A very interesting and fascinating brief, and one I'm personally affected by. I have epilepsy myself (seizure free for 5+ years) so I'll try and pull in on my past experiences.
A logo concept has been submitted pending admin approval:

Hi, I uploaded a logo which will publish after admin approval.

Thanks
All these brains ! ~ I think they would work well in some sort of a funny t-shirt design, not so sure about a logo.
Read the brief!
I did !, not necessarily because the client has an inclination towards something means that it's the best for his image or the impression he is trying to achieve. : )
The simplest solution is always the best, especially through a service like this. Nearly 15 years experience of dealing with clients face-to-face has taught me this valuable lesson. Get the brief, perceive a solution, deliver the brief, get paid.
In this regard, the concept and ideas that are going to make the solution work need to be simple yet immediately direct and 'obvious' because of the relatively abstract nature of the service that is on offer by the client. The end user, that is the customer who will see and read the logo, needs to understand instantly the intended notion behind the message. And while there are possibly 'other' more subtle solutions that might deliver the message in a cleverer way, in my experience this is not perhaps the best way for this brief to develop.
I once had a brief for stationery company. I did nearly 40 designs for this company and none were selected except the very last one which was my first idea - the company was called Dennons, the solution... a letter D on a post-it note! A cheap nasty solution that I tried to avoid but ultimately it's what they wanted. Lesson learned!
Hello,
I designed a logo that represents what you are looking for. I just submitted so I have to wait for approval; however, this is the link so you can look at it.

Thank you, and good luck with the project!
For some reason, Stocklogo has only allowed one amended logo to be submitted!

Hi Neuroguru, I hadn't realized there was a price restriction in place for the logo. I've now edited the prices accordingly.
Some further notes, I've actually done seven variations on the Rolandic logo that explore different type options with different colour options, all of them using a clearer and more defined illustration. Stocklogo's however, will not let me upload all of them at once. Just so you're aware.
Cheers,
Derren.
Dear Neuroguru. These are my design for epileptic children. i hope u like.

Creators, wow! those are some varied and imaginative interpretations of the brief. The discussion above is very apposite - sometimes the client doesnt know what's in his best interests. However, there is plenty of choice here, and we are inclined to go with the most direct, clear and eye-catching solution. Fourfingerfunk thanks for all your work and thought on this. We ought to choose one from our shortlist in the next week or so. Thanks!
Thank you Neuroguru, it's always good to have positive feedback from clients, and I'm sure everyone who has submitted to this brief appreciates the feedback given by yourself. I've certainly enjoyed this brief, and being epileptic it's a subject close to my heart. There are certainly some fantastic solutions on here, and I'm sure that whichever you choose, you'll have a professional and usable logo that will work perfectly for your needs. Many thanks... Derren.
This is my submission: http://stocklogos.com/node/4924
I tried to design it different way.
Btw, here is the sold logo: http://stocklogos.com/node/4432
Really? I have seen the comments from the client about this logo saying it doesn't really represent what they do so could they make changes yet they still seem to have gone for it as it stands. Can you confirm?
I'm sure final modifications are done with the designer. That's the correct way to do it.
Congrats to IQproductions, his version of the Rolandic logo (http://stocklogos.com/node/4743) just got sold :)
+1 Well done mate!
Thank you all, was great to participate
