Brief Status
Closed About Yourself
PapaMoss is a distribution or a home deliveries business. At the core we deliver cooked meals, but we will also take with us newspapers/magazines, flowers, or drugs.
We are both an online shop and a call center, and our delivery staff ride motorcycles across town.
We offer a great variety of products and meal options, meaning hundreds of meals, as all the plates available in the menus of 6-12 different restaurants are all available from us. So you can buy chinese, italian, morrocan, brazilian, indian food all at once from us and enjoy all the different flavors at home, let's say during dinner. Target Audience
Our target is an urban and busy audience. They may arrive late from work and have little time for cooking, they may have young children that keep them hands-full whilst at home, they may have too late or too early lunch/dinner breaks, or they simply don't want to waist their precious time cooking.
Also we target an young audience that is familiar with the internet and social networks and our aim is to work mainly online and our marketing will also be for its most part conducted online. Your Objectives
PapaMoss is community oriented, and our aim is to provide a service that makes urban life a little more comfortable and less stressful.
We aim to provide our costumers with plenty of "choices" and "comfort", as they may choose from a list of hundreds of meals, from italian to japenese food, and all they need to do is to go online or pick up a phone.
Our imagine must also portray that "we are easily accessible" and that we have plenty to offer to almost everyone; plenty of food, but also more than that.
Finally, we wish to put across the ideas of "reliability", as we will be there for anyone every-single-day, and "fast" as we intend to reach anyone's home in half an hour or less, bringing them a cooked meal.
Special Requirements
We are open to either a symbolic logo with lettering or an illustrative one. In terms of colors we thought of bright pink and white lettering, but with a contour in brown; so bright pink and a brown line, between the pink and the white. The point is to have a popular image, immediately recognizable. Price Range
$250-500

Hello logotipo,
could you please tell us is there any meaning in your company name?
And please do explain us a bit more precise the desired usage of the colors:
bright pink, white and brown...
if you have any example or draft to upload - please do. This would facilitate the whole logo creating process and you will get a better matching logos to chose from.
And one more thing, do you have an USP (unique selling proposal, i.e. "Just a Click Away...") that you would like to attach to your logo?
Thank you for your answers!
Best,
Siny
Hi Siny,
Thanks for your questions, I will try to answer them all, as they will help other designers too.
Yes there is a meaning, for us, but for most people will be just a name. "Moss" is a local way (local slang) of saying "boy", and Papa may have two distinct meanings - "father" and "eat"; it is the latter one that is ours.
For many clients will be just a name however, one that sounds good, we hope. Also since we are located in area with many residents from the North of Europe (english/german/dutch speaking) the name will appeal to them, we hope.
Regarding the colors, to simplify we opted for 2 colors, bright pink and brown. Imagine that you have a pink background, and the lettering (papamoss) in white, it becomes hard to read the name from a distance. So we have introduced the brown, as a contour line of the white letters in order to help them to be more readable. Bright/Chock pink, brown and white make a nice colorful combination, one that catches your eyes easily. The idea is that identification becomes immediate. Also we know that it would be hard to find Pink uniforms for our delivery staff, but in brown we can buy them.
No I have draft to upload, as this is a start-up business. Also we have no taglines, at least not as yet, as we have failed to agree on one so far. We thought about "your comfort is our priority", or "you click, we supply", or "easy buy, fast supply", but as I said, we haven't reach an agreement yet. You can propose one if you want.
Finally, remember that although we will have a call center, the idea is that people can buy cooked food meals online, and everything else, without having to spend money on a phonecall. So we have registered the domain papamoss.com, meaning that you can play around with the .com if you want.
I hope I have answered you questions.
Good creations,
logotipo
Thank you for your answer "logotipo" - this will certainly clear some of my questions.
You've said that those 5 designs posted are not what you expected - and I agree.
But please have in mind that is not easy for us to pinpoint your idea of a logo.
You don't have to have a draft but please give us a bit more details regarding the logo details that you would like to see on it.
a.) Do you want a transportation or delivery symbol/icon (i.e. motorbike icon) with the lettering "PapaMoss"?
b.) Do you want only lettering?
c.) Do you have any particular symbol in mind that you would like to see besides your company name
(It could be something that relates to you, i.e. a basket, a rocking chair, a flying scarf or just anything that is not directly related to business but it "rings a bell" with your emotion.
For example, I have a client who wanted a cat symbol for his accounting service !!!
------------
The color scheme is now clear - I have tried to incorporate brown into my first attempt of your logo:
http://stocklogos.com/node/5192
but it just doesn't looked good...
The shade of gray or dark blue with your bright pink - that will be another story...
And the dark blue (or gray) uniforms even with pink details are not so hard to find.
Ok you want brown as a contour line - you'll get it ;)
Best,
Siny
Just a quick note on your colour choices: pink and brown are tonally very similar, so over distance they're likely to actually blend into each other and you won't get much separation. Pink and white do actually work quite well, and if the pink was perhaps a little denser instead of brighter, you'd get the carriage of information you're seeking. Doing this would mean that a keyline of brown would not be necessary and you could use your pink colour for the main body, with the brown being a compliment to the main colour used separately. This is the approach I have taken with my designs.
Hello,
Here is my proposition for your business. I hope it fits your needs.
http://stocklogos.com/node/5176
Will be soon available, after admin aproves it.
Hello logotipo,
I would like to know the same as Siny. As i made a preliminary draft, i would like to know how those three colours will work together. As Siny said, be a bit more precise. Thank you!
Hi AppliArt,
I hope my answers to Siny will help you.
Regards, logotipo
Sorry designers, but none of the first 8 drafts submitted fit our expectations. Please to keep working on other ideas. Many thanks.
Hi Logotip
Is there anything specific i'm just not hitting the right note with my logo submission as i feel i was heading in the right direction with this?
Scott
Hi Logotipo, I have a logo submission pending approval from admin: http://stocklogos.com/node/5224
Just some notes on my design:
The logo design use a very clean and simple to read font - it's immediate and it's uncluttered. I've illustrated a chef character for 'Papamoss' making him almost into a superhero type figure. The idea being that Papamoss comes to your rescue were food is concerned. So while the illustration is simple, clients will immediately understand what it is your company provides. I've also come up with a nice simple tag line that demonstrates the company business model, the chef (Papamoss) demonstrates the company purpose.
As you're a new business start up, I imagine you'll want to keep your overheads down initially! So the logo design I have opted to do is going to be easy to replicate out of vinyl for vehicle liveries, shop front fascia signs, window graphics, hoarding boards as well as being more than suitable for printed media such as stationery. I've chosen not to make the logo complicated by using gradients etc, which would introduce additional printing costs etc.
Hope you like it, and if you have any further comments just let me know.
Derren.
A variation on the original idea now added and awaiting approval: http://stocklogos.com/node/5288
Any feedback, criticisms or observations would be much appreciated.

Hi fourfingerfunk,
Sorry but it has not appealed to most of us.
Best, logotipo
Hi designers,
Ok we take the point Siny as made that we could provide more guidance about what we want. The fact is that we are open to ideas and what we really want is to be surprised, rather than say draw this...
But one existing idea that we like appears in the site www.comidas.pt , use that as a point of departure, but give us something else, something special.
Another idea is think of papamoss as a virtual friend, that makes your life easier... Moss as we said is slang for "boy", so drawing a mascot could be a option... lettering alone not really... but some representation of delivery yes... it would be nice if the logo looks dynamic somehow, like it is on the way...
Hope this helps and keep up with the good ideas and work.

Hi Logotipo,
Here is my logo idea for you. Please let me know what you think.
Many thanks

Hi Arnaud,
Your is not visible as yet.

should be ok now
Hi Siny,
We have also taken your point that a shade of gray or dark blue, would fit better with the bright pink than the brown. That was a good point, thank you for making us see that.
We hope our previous response will answer your questions.
Best, logotipo
Hello,
Here is my proposal:
http://stocklogos.com/node/5270
Hi dumb668,
We like your proposal, but 2 important elements are missing, 1 - the shopping online, and 2 - the "on the move" dynamic.
Best, Nelson
Hi designers,
Here is one suggestion, what about exploring the shopping trolley that appears in most online stores as a symbol in stylized way, for instance to appear like a delivery trolley with the box that the motorcycles use at the back and/or being driven with someone with an helmet.
We would like to logo to appear dynamic somehow, representing the idea "on the move", but the fact that you can buy online is also key. Good creations!
Many thanks, logotipo
Hello, logotipo!
here is my second submission for you, it does the dynamic part with the wheels attached to te pan. Hope you like it.
http://stocklogos.com/node/5280
Customers may assume you're a grocery store and not strictly a food delivery service if you use a shopping trolley for imagery. Not saying it can't work, but as a possible customer to your services it's not something I would associate with that type of service. Just a thought!
fourfingerfunk, we take your point about the trolley, but the fact is that we are not a food delivery service alone... food key to the business, but there are more to it... in the end it is the demand that will determine what else we will supply... but we offer variety of food, and wine, and magazines, and cigars, and pills, things that that are part of our daily like and that can fit in a small size box... the core is food though...
Okey dokey!
Cheers for this, it's helped form a stronger idea in my mind of how to progress the design further. Watch this space :)
Hi Logotipo
My logo just awaiting approval - http://stocklogos.com/node/5300 - hope you like it!

This is a great logo mate!
Hi sdows,
That's a very nice logo. Now, is there a way that we can portray the online shopping idea? also we are not really a restaurant, but a distribution business that makes the distribution of cooked meals, the core of its business, but that also delivers other goods. Do you think that logo can pass the idea we are about more than food? Once again your logo is really nice, the best so far, we are just trying to see if it can be more close to the business identity. Many thanks.
Hi Logotip
Thanks for your comments - let me play around & make some adjustments to try & get it closer to your business identity
Regards
Scott
Hi Logotip
Revised logos just awaiting approval - both just slightly different variations.

HI sdowds, the revised logos can't beat the original one. Thanks for the effort, but the online and the deliveries USPs are still missing.
Greetings Logotipo!
I have created a logo which is awaiting an admins acceptance.

Sorry observer, the logo's symbol remind us of real estate or construction.
Hi there logotipo :)
I've just uploaded a few logos (I think 4) and it'll be able to be seen once its approved. I'd just like to let you know that this is my favourite of the 4: http://stocklogos.com/node/5426
Tell me what you think! I believe it actually says the most things that you'd like to show from your brand! :) Plus, a more sophisticated look too (I believe so :))
Hope you like it.
Sorry designers, but we are not there yet. There are a couple of nice logos, that would work well in a restaurant, but not for an online shop and delivery business. We understand that it might not be easy to catch all the elements we would like in a logo, but so far we haven't seen one, that we would makes us say here is our business logo. Please do keep working on it, we are desperate to be surprised by you; and many thanks for the efforts so far Best, logotipo
What I would say is this: don't be afraid to make direct criticism of any design in this brief, it is after all you that is paying for the design. If any of the designs have elements you're looking for, say the typography or graphic, then I wouldn't be hesitant is saying as such. This helps designers immensely in tailor-making their designs to your requirements. All designers understand that criticism is essential if the brief is to be correct. I certainly wouldn't take it personally if your criticised any of my logo designs, providing the criticism is justified and done professionally i.e.: a typographic error, awkward or ugly composition or spacing etc. Criticism for the sake of it with grounds as such is unprofessional too. I would make a list of logos you have seen so far and comment on why some elements work and why some don't. This way the brief will move in the direction you want and not the other way round. Derren.
Hi there Logotipo,
I understand that you'd like a logo that would get all of your elements and say all the things you want to say i.e. home delivery business, variety of food chinese, italian, morrocan, brazilian, indian, plenty of choices & comfort, online shop, easily accessible, reliable, fast and many more. However I'd like to say that it is always best when we have 1 or 2 USP that are most important to you to focus on. As a logo with all those elements that is included on the brief would be way too confusing. I believe that you do not have to say all the things you need to say because when you have a strong brand, people will eventually know of all the benefits themselves. And also they'll need to rely on more medias such as brochures or online advertisements to work.
However, I have one that is still my favourite of the ones I did. Also I believe it does match your current criteria :) But it is still under moderation as I needed to re-arrange some stuffs in it. Please do have a look at it when it is available to view. I am quite confident that this will match for both restaurant & online shop. http://stocklogos.com/node/5426
Please do let me know what you think of it :)
thank you!

Hello, Logotipo. i've made some proposals for your brief.
http://stocklogos.com/node/5491
http://stocklogos.com/node/5579
PapaMoss, food & meal delivering, fast, save & delicious. I've represent the Cheff, the hut and delivery service (bike) like a "centaurus" made "one" and obviously really truly delicious food. Comments and changes are available.
Sorry shanok, it does not work for us.
Hello Logotipo,
I took a shot at designing your logo and here's what I came up with:
http://stocklogos.com/node/5571
Enjoy.
Hi designers,
In response to fourfingerfunk and yanfaith90 last comments, we believe that our briefing could have been more focused on 1, 2 or 3 USPs, in order to facilitate the creative work. So to make it clearer, our ultimate business focus is on home deliveries, the key USP. We deliver food, that is "papa", but also other products, that probably don't need to represented since this makes the logo too complex. Yet the products must be bought online or over the phone, and this element, is also an important USP.
For that reason, the motorcycle with the box at the back and/or the helmet, the computer's mouse, and the chef and/or his/hers hat, where elements that we have seen represented in some of the proposed logos and that made all the sense to us.
Yet we didn't want you to be fixed with these 3 elements, instead we wanted to be surprised by you, as you could well find other elements to covey the same idea/USP. We are open to accept them.
However, as a whole the integration of the 3 USPs, has yet to be achieved from our point of view. That representation should portray a small and familiar business rather than corporation.
When we suggested the bright pink with the dark brown and white as colors we had a urban pop image in mind. Yet once again, we open to other possibilities.
Hope this comment helps somehow.
Best, logotipo
The brief supposed to close tomorrow. Do you want to keep it open for a few more days?
Designers, do you wish to try to send more logos?
Thanks!
48 logos uploaded? I think it's done.
