the Imperial

Previously the Imperial logo was just a typeface in an older style font. We are now looking for something of a logo to show our history which should include but doesn't necessarily need to, a lion or unicorn or just a lion or none, perhaps a crest and a crown but that's not mandatory either. It's to show the tradition of the pub as it has been in one family for over 100 years. In saying this, it also cannot look too royalist and snobby which could be a turn off to some. So basically in short

1. Create a new logo for the reopening of the Imperial hotel

2. Possibility to link it with past imagery but not mandatory.

3. The newly renovated hotel will be a fresh, tasteful destination hotel that is really still a traditional hotel ie no stainless steel or blond furniture, not a wine bar, but a pub. High old fashioned ceilings, wooden floors, mixed wooden & upholstered furniture, fire place, garden.

4. We are close to the sports grounds and our biggest market maybe the guys drinking on match nights but it can't be too aggressive to turn off the female market.

8. We want something catchy that will translate across the board. The possibility of adapting or using it in different styles for different areas is quite likely (necessary). For example we would plan to use it on the web site, with media releases, on letter head, on beer mats, on staff uniforms, t shirts, as labels on our own house wine etc...

A logo that can also represent the other areas within the pub, ie. the private room, possibly could be called 'the crown room' and how would the logo translate for that area; the second level bar which could be called 'the imperial lounge bar', how does the logo represent itself here.
